We have been learning how animals keep warm. Polar bears have 2 layers of fur. Penguins huddle together and take turns at being in the middle of the group. Whales have a layer of blubber. We made blubber from a block of vegetable oil. We dipped our hands into a bowl of iced water. The bag of 'blubber' really kept our hands much warmer.
