Happy New Year!

6th Jan 2021

Dear Parents,

Happy New Year and whilst it is not the start we hoped for, I hope everyone is safe and well.

Our staff have all been working hard to produce remote learning activities, which are all on our home learning portal in the parents section of this website.  Activities for the following week will be uploaded each Friday.  Our online reading materials are also available - see Bug Club information in the portal for P2 and P3 and other reading information for P1 pupils.  I trust the activities devised are manageable as we know the stresses you face , managing home learning and trying to do the other roles you have.  Remember, your child needs lots of exercise, play and other activities too.  Please remember to email the staff or myself with any queries you may have. All staff are currently involved with key worker support, so they will reply as soon as possible.  I hope our new demonstration tutorials will also be of use, as we hope they show you (and your child) the methods we use to teach and what concepts we are trying to get across.

I hope your children liked the messages from the class teacher - another way we hope to maintain the pastoral element of what we do.  Next week we will be sending out emails to you with an invite for your child to log on for small group video conference sessions.  These will be a mixture of short direct teaching sessions and Circle Time activities, to keep our classes connected and motivate and enthuse our children.

Please keep in touch with us and send us through work samples, videos, photographs and messages as we miss your children dearly.  Finally a little message for the children...….

Dear Boys and Girls,

Happy New Year and I hope you had a lovely Christmas!  I am sure Santa brought some lovely things as you have all been so good!  I hope you are enjoying the little activities we have set this week.  Each week I have a special job for you to do.  I want you to pick your favourite piece of work (or one you are very proud of) and ask an adult to send it to us.  We love to see what you are doing and will put some on the website for your friends to see too.

Keep working hard, get some exercise, play with your new toys and we hope to see you soon.

Love from Mrs McIlroy
