Important Update re School Re- Start
Dear Parents,
Whilst I am delighted to be writing to you now that we have confirmation that all our pupils can return to school on Monday 8th March, I am sure many are disappointed that it is not yet been deemed safe for all children in other year groups to also return. On Monday 8th March we will resume our usual staggered start and end times, our one-way system, our social distancing and our enhanced hygiene measures. Your cooperation with the continuation of these measures will be greatly appreciated and help us keep the whole school community safe.
We had originally planned a staff development day for St Patrick's Day, but this has been postponed until later in the year so that we have as much time as possible in school with our pupils. Plans are already well underway to ensure we can quickly re-assess every child's progress to date and provide individualised teaching and learning experiences as we move forward.
As yet, I await official details from the Department of Education regarding the week before the Easter holidays. I will of course let you know when I have more information. However, that week (beginning 22nd March) we will be arranging video conference calls to all parents as a parent/ teacher meeting. Details will be sent home when children return to school.
I cannot wait to see all our children back in school and I know all our staff share this sentiment. Thank you for all the hard work over this term and for the many kind emails of appreciation. I know that remote learning is not easy and I am glad that there are better times ahead.
Best wishes
O Mcilroy
