Sheryl from Belfast City Council came to our class to tell us about food waste and recycling. She told us what happens to all our rubbish and how important it is to recycle rather than our rubbish being dumped in a landfill. We learnt which bins to sort our rubbish into and that the green bags used in food caddies are made from potatoes!!! We played a thumbs up, thumbs down recycling quiz with Mr Rat. We learnt lots of interesting facts and even had time to give Mr Rat a tummy tickle, thank you Sheryl and Mr Rat.
