P1JC Ice Cube Experiment

We got four different coloured containers and put an ice cube in each. We then added tepid water to the first container, sugar to the second and salt to the third. We left the fourth  with just the ice cube in it. The children predicted which ice cube would melt first, most children guessed the ice cube with the added sugar. We observed the containers and numbered each one in the order they melted. Four children were correct when they predicted the salted ice cube would melt first. We then recorded our results on a page. In our class the ice cubes melted in the following order 1. Salt   2. Water   3. Sugar   4. Nothing
