The children in P1JC had to solve a problem for the Gingerbread Man. They had to construct a bridge over the river to stop the fox eating the gingerbread man. We talked about different materials we could use eg paper, card, wood, bricks and metal. The children then predicted whether the materials would be strong enough to hold the Gingerbread man. We looked at real bridges and talked about what they were used for and how strong they needed to be to hold traffic, trains or people. Look what we found out ….
