As part of our topic this week have been learning about how some animals in the Arctic and Antarctic have blubber to keep them warm especially in the icy cold water. We participated in a blubber experiment. We put some lard in a bag and squashed it, then we added another bag to stop our hands touching the lard. We put one hand in the ‘lard glove’ and the other hand into a tub of icy cold water. The hand with the lard glove was warm and the hand without was freezing! 🥶
