Today our P2 scientists were exploring which materials are waterproof. In our groups we made four boats using four different types of materials - paper, card, plastic and tinfoil. Each boat had the same materials for sails - paper. We tested out our boats in water and Mrs Scholes created a rainstorm to worsen the weather conditions. The children made excellent observations about the importance of the boat's structure and why some materials are waterproof and some are not. We have decided to make paper boats on Friday as some of us were not impressed by the outcome 😄 !
