What a fantastic time we had on our school trip. We set off walking to the shops on the Belmont Road to find out what types of items the shops sold and to find the important letter displayed in the shop window. Each group had to record the items and the letter they saw so that they could eventually spell out a word. When they realised the word was ice cream they immediately started getting very excited in the hope that they were going to get some. When we arrived back to school we had a visit from Neal and his ice cream van. Neal is so lovely with the children and always comes when we ask him as a special treat to end our shopping trip.
A huge thank you to my amazing parent helpers and James Coffey Butchers who came out to chat with the class and gave them cocktail sausages which they had cooked especially for the class coming. The class had a super time!
