P2DG Well deserved relaxation time.
I think the boys and girls have been fantastic dealing with all the changes they have experienced throughout this year. They have just accepted everything and got on with it which makes them extra special superstars.
Children's mental health is so important and to enable them to look after it, they should know how to relax and take time out from their everyday activities when they can (parents too). Today I did some relaxation with my class which we will continue to enjoy after Easter. Its always interesting to see who enjoys it and finds it easy, who doesn't enjoy it and finds it difficult or finds it easy but doesn't like it. I think we can all agree that we definitely don't take enough time to relax and give our body and mind a rest which can then feel a little odd when we do.
Most of the class responded positively to it, here is some of the feedback they gave me after...….
"That was beautiful, it was so calm and peaceful"
"That made me think of all the things I really like"
"It calmed me down so much, I almost fell asleep"
"I enjoyed every single part of that"
"I felt like my body was sinking into the ground"
"The music and lights were amazing"
"I feel so relaxed after that"
"I felt like I was at home and I thought about my kitten which made me feel happy"
"It was so nice that it was very quiet"
I have told them that they can do it at home and hopefully enjoy it with the rest of their family.
