The children were introduced to a new topic this week about the wonderful author Julia Donaldson. In Play-Based Learning, we used the role play area to dress up as a character and retell a familiar story. We loved the fancy costumes we could choose! We used the computers to paint a picture of a character from a book and used paint to create a leaf print pattern. Some children even made a witch’s broom from the story ‘Room on the broom’ using sticks and other materials and we also used the theatre to make a puppet show about the story of the gruffalo. It was so much fun!
