As part of our Jack and the Beanstalk theme we planted beans. We collected jam jars (this is so we can see the roots forming and the shoots as they start to grow), and used soil, beans and gardening tools to plant our seeds. We talked about why the seeds need soil (for food) and why we didn't out the lids back on our jars (the seeds need air). After we watered them, we placed them on our windowsill so they get plenty of sun. Each day we will observe the changes as our seeds grow into beans!
